Dedicated

I’ve won National Novel Writing Month 4 times. In 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023, I wrote over 50,000 words in the month of November. Even when I was uninspired or burnt out, I buckled down and accomplished the goal I set out to attain.

A pleasure to work with

I consistently earn promotions at my companies or get recruited by clients to work for them. I am a hard worker that gets the job done, but I also work extremely well with others. I was hired out of college by a company I interned for as an undergrad, earned promotions internally at many of my jobs, and was recruited by a client of mine to work for their company. No matter who my future agent ends up being, I know I’ll have a great working relationship with them.

Writing is my goal

I have been working to improve my writing since 2018 through writing groups, NaNoWriMo, podcasts, webinars, books, and more. I was passionate about writing from elementary school through college, but when I got my first “real job”, I set writing aside. But after a few years, I could feel the emptiness in my life. Once I started writing again, I knew I could never stop—I need to write in order to be truly happy. Ever since, I’ve worked to improve my craft. I participated in NaNoWriMo through virtual and in person write-ins, and met a great group of writers through the program that I still write with today! I listen to podcasts from The Manuscript Academy, watch webinars from The Writer’s Workshop, subscribe to a variety of writing newsletters and websites, and read books to improve my skills like Story Genius by Lisa Cron or The Emotional Craft of Fiction by Donald Mass.

Why write now?

Despite getting a “real job” after graduating college, the prospect of publishing a book has always had its teeth in me. I wrote my first story in the first grade, a timeless classic called “Enemies Become Friends”. A wolf tries to eat a cat through a series of Looney Tunes inspired schemes, but at the end, the title proves to be true. After that, I couldn’t stop. I wrote about squirrels, paper clips, dragons, toys come to life, knights, dimensional travel, and mages. Only college and the demands of my first big girl job could stop me. But not for long.

I would not be who I am today - as a person or as a writer - without the authors who created books that still keep me up past my bedtime. Tamora Pierce, the Harry Potter series, Christopher Paolini, James Patterson, and more recently Brandon Sanderson, Marie Lu, Alix E. Harrow, Leigh Bardugo, Tamsyn Muir, and Tomi Adeyemi to name a few. They all have stories I don’t know how I’d live without, and if I can write something that captivates a reader like they did me, it’ll all be worth it.
